Screen is outstanding cannot say enough good things about , great audio which a lot of handhelds can struggle with , the volume wheel is very rad makes it feel even more like an og gameboy. battery is impressive , has the power to play whatever I need. The buttons, the case and the analog stick all feel high quality and the shoulder buttons are responsive and a good solution for a vertical handheld. The initial setup can feel a lil confusing but once it was setup and I was playing games, it was great. The touch pad as the right analog works surprisingly well for camera based games but not so much for FPS games. Overall very much love it only problems is the fan on high is extremely loud, microsd cover is a little finicky , and the plastic can be a lil smudgy on the black model , but absolutely overall the best vertical handheld I’ve ever had the chance to own and will be my main for all 4:3 games.

I’ve had my Ayaneo Pocket DMG 8GB in Arctic White from Droix for about three weeks now and it is absolutely fantastic. I wanted something that was just as capable as my Odin 2 Portal at home, but in a portable form factor. The DMG runs every console I’ve thrown at it with ease, up to secret console, without ever leaving the “game” performance profile. It’s very pocketable or fits discreetly in small belt pouches. The joystick is a pleasure to use and I’ve gotten accustomed to the trackpad, it’s quite viable for games with right stick camera adjustment. I’m about 15 hours into a DQ8 (PS2) run all from the DMG, plus around 10 hours in Pokemon Unbound (GBA), 5 hours in FE Engage (secret console), and have a couple hours in GTA Chinatown Wars (PSP), Dante’s Inferno (PSP), and Twilight Princess (GameCube). The Snapdragon G3x G2 is an insane chipset and the 6000 mah battery in there will have you gaming for hours. Also, ZERO discoloring on the white model after much pocket and outside use. Droix itself was fantastic, shipped the device fast and got it to me before the de minimis loophole closed. Plus, if you can catch it on sale for $370, that’s a huge win. It’s completely worth the $410 if you want a vertical/EDC that will never have you looking at others.
